So a very committed forty of us have taken up the gauntlet of walking 4010 miles in one month (I’m 40 and I’ve had cancer for 10 years). So far the amazing bunch is exceeding all metrics. In the first four days we walked past Prague from my house (over 800 miles) and by this Sunday we aim to walk all the way to Istanbul.

In terms of fundraising the guys are also doing an amazing job. Our Goal of £4010 (getting a theme here) has gone and we are approaching 5000. We have set a stretch goal of more than the 24 hour walk, so around £6500 and this should be eminently achievable with more than three weeks to go.

It is getting hard though. I committed to 200 miles, as did some others, and 6.66 miles a day is proving very time consuming and tiring, around 2 hours of walking a day.

Still it’s for an excellent cause, and the WhatsApp group is buzzing. I’ll share a mileage update on Monday next week. Please do dig deep and donate. Any amount is great for a fabulous charity who perform trials to try and eradicate blood cancers.

Finally here are some photos of our awesome walkers in action and some of the amazing places they are.
